A signature is an automatic feature that will post any text of your choice at the end of any post or email that you write. If you would like a signature to show up at the end of your emails on your BlackBerry Curve, here is how you can do that:
First open your Messages.
Click Menu.
Choose Options.
Then choose Email Settings.
Make sure Use Auto Signature is set to Yes.
Then enter in the text of your choice.
Click Menu.
Then choose Save.
An automatic signature showing the text you chose should now show up at the end of each email you write.

I am having a problem trying to access the auto signature on my Blackberry Curve. When I follow your instructions to go into my messages, click menu, options, email settings, there is not auto signatures on that screen. Under my email settings I have “confirm delivery”, confirm read” and “send mail receipts”. Where do I locate the “auto signature”?
Thank you
LaVerne

this cannot be done from your phone. Must go to blackberry website and click on edit your email and proceed from there.

Hi LaVerne,
Sorry, I haven’t been able to work on this site in a while, but I did find an answer for you if you are still looking. I found out that many people are not seeing the auto signature option in their settings, so what you can do is go to your carriers website.
If you have a personal email account, as opposed to a corporate account then you need to go to the carriers website and edit the email settings there. There will be an option to setup a filter as well as a signature since it cannot be located in your device.
You may have been provided a webmail account by BlackBerry for AT&T and you can go there to change your settings.
I hope this information is helpful.

I am having the same problem as LaVerne. I have done what you suggested and the signature is enabled on my gmail email, nevertheless, the signature only works when I send emails from Gmail and not from my BB.

The more i learn about the black berry the more i don’t like it. some thing as simple as a signature at the end of a text it can’t do. the phones you get for free when you sign up the cheapest phone will let you do it and these won’t. They suck!!

Not that I’m impressed a lot, but this is a lot more than I expected when I found a link on Digg telling that the info here is quite decent. Thanks.
p.s. Year One is already on the Internet and you can watch it for free.

aThe only way I’ve discvered to add a signature line is:
1. Go to options
2. Scroll to owner
3. Under Information type in what you want your signature line to be.
When sending a text, at the end of your comments type ” the letters “s-i-g” (no hypens) then space. Waalaa

ON YOUR MENU SELECT EMAIL SETTINGS ICON. SELECT THE EMAIL ACCOUNT YOU WANT TO CHANGE. SELECT EDIT AND SCROLL DOWN, YOU CAN THEN CHANGE THE SIGNATURE. YOU MUST DO THIS FOR EACH EMAIL ACCOUNT ON THE DEVICE.

Hi All,
I have been using the blackberry curve now for 2 months and it is WAY better than the iphone 8gb 3G. I had it for 14 months and it was terrible. It would freeze for no reason, it needed charged every day (and I am not that heavy a user). Nothing was compatible with it so the blackberry a refreshing improvement (and it does just the same). So what if it’s a bit tricky to get the signature working? At least there is enough charge to send the message at all!
:)
Managed to set up the signature using the posts here so thanks for that. Why doesn’t the curve do it automatically? Very minor irritation.
