If you thought the BlackBerry Bold was comparable to the iPhone 3G, wait until you see the new BlackBerry Storm.
Browsing the net should no longer be an issue with the Storm because it is a touch screen phone. That’s right, no more trackball. The Storm will also have the virtual keyboard, the full QWERTY in the horizontal position, and the old look keyboard in the vertical position, but either way it’s all touch screen on this one. Same old BlackBerry email, however, the Storm will have copy and paste functions which consumers have been waiting to see.
The Storm is just a bit smaller than the iPhone, but also a little thicker. Here are some of the features of the new Storm which are very much like the Bold:
-528 MHz processor
-Take calls while browsing the net or sending email
-Take pictures with the 3.2 megapixel camera while talking on the phone
-Video camera
-GPS
-Voice activated dialing, conference calling, speakerphone, and voicemail attachment playback
-IM, text messaging, and social networking sites
-1GB memory, and up to 16GB
-Roxio media manager and iTunes
The BlackBerry Storm looks like an excellent phone, and possibly even something that iPhone lovers may like. The Storm is due to come out in the 4th quarter, so we might be able to expect it sometime soon…
