The iPhone 3G has been an icon in the mobile phone industry for quite a while now, however, Research In Motion has plans to change that with their new creation, the BlackBerry Storm.

The BlackBerry Storm is not even out yet, but this one should be interesting. Lets take a look at how they look on the outside.

Both of these phones are almost identicle in size. The Storm is just a bit thicker and heavier than the iPhone, but not by much. Both of these phones will also give you the same resolution; 480×320 pixels. One big thing that has changed for the BlackBerry is that the Storm is a touch phone just like the iPhone.

The camera on the Storm is a 3.2 megapixel camera which should be a little better than the 2 megapixel camera that the iPhone has. The Storm will still have the ability to record video, while the iPhone does not. Both of these phones look great on the outside, so lets see how they look on the inside.

Stand by time and talk time look to be about the same on these two phones, but will obviously depend on your network. Stand by time for the iphone is 300 hours, while it is 15 days for the Storm, which would come out to 360 hours. The talk time on the iPhone is around 5 hours on 3G, while it is about 5.5 hours on the Storm.

The iPhone comes in an 8GB model or a 16GB model, while you only get 1GB with the Storm, however, you can add up to 16GB more with a microSD card.

Both phones also have GPS so you can look up where you are, and where you are going on the maps.

There is a big difference with the Storm as far as multitasking goes. You will be able to talk on the phone while sending email, using the GPS, or browsing the internet thanks to the speaker phone. This will be a big advantage in a world where we always want to be doing as many things as possible all at once.

At 620MHz the processor of the iPhone may be a bit quicker than the 528MHz that the Storm has going for it, but I’m sure we can expect the email to be as dominant as ever.

A BlackBerry touch screen that looks like this may change the way that some people feel about BlackBerry, and should only increase the interest of those who already love BlackBerrys. Even though the BlackBerry Storm is not released yet, I would definitely take it over the iPhone.

What do you think about the new BlackBerry Storm?
