Depending on what you put your phone through on a daily basis, its battery might get anywhere from 8 hours of use to 120 hours of use. We all know that these newer models coming out are packed with more power than ever, and power eats up that battery.

If you are a BlackBerry user, you can probably expect to get about the same amount of battery life with the Bold, as you would with an older model. If you are an iPhone user, you should be able to expect the same as far as the iphone goes. If you have never owned either phone before, you will probably end up recharging your new phone every 1-5 days.

I’ve been searching through the forums for some definitive answers, and of course, I have found only a wide variety of responses.

In the blackBerry forums, BlackBerry users get anywhere from 1-5 days out of their batteries. Those who don’t do much of anything on their phone have claimed they get about 5 days out of their batteries before needing to be recharged. Those who use their phone throughout the day; calling, texting, emailing, and browsing seem to get only about 8 hours out of their batteries. As far as an average goes, I would have to say about 2 days and the battery will need to be recharged.

In the iPhone forums, iPhone users had very similar results to those using a BlackBerry. The average was about 2 days, the low was about 8 hours, and the high was about 5 days. Some users love how long their batteries last, and others do not.

I believe it is safe to say that if you are torn between these two phones, the battery will probably not be the deciding factor for you. The battery life of the BlackBerry, and that of the iPhone are very similar. It all depends on how much use your phone is going to go through on a daily basis.

If you are a BlackBerry user, or an iPhone user, how many hours would you say you get out of your battery?

I find that I don’t hardly get a full day of use. I am one to use my device all day, throughout school as much as possible. Texting emailing, rarely calling, are all things that I do throughout the day on my iPhone 3G and the battery is barely hanging on at the end of the day. When I consider how much the phone is being used and how long it lasts for the stress I put on it– then the life is long. Otherwise I just get really angry.

Don’t forget to turn off function that you dpn’t use, like WiFi and bluetooth. They can eat up you battery life quite a bit.
