well first of all, bb's target market are business people, so it's obviously not made for highschool kids entertainment LOL, so you can't really compare it to the iphone. the choice is really very simple and all comes down for what you wanna use the phone for. bb's are better for emailing and editing, while iphone is just for entertainment. i love the bb, mostly because i don't spend my time playing games all day and i love bbm. and for the guy who's trackball fell in his pocket, that's why there's a trackPAD smartie. so if you just wanna play games all day, get the iphone.

you've failed to address the fact that the iPhone's communications are unencrypted. And that is what the BlackBerry service fee is for. The iPhone is an entertainment and personal device and does not possess many important and KEY business features like document editing and PUSH email. IPhone may possess a app for documents but the lack of a tactile keyboard makes editing them frustrating. I possess both phones, one for my work and the office and the iPhone for my life outside of work. While it is a neat device it is not equip for the corporate world.

I had both blackberry bold and iphone 3gs, used them as prepaid phones on AT&T. iPhone is a 100% winner, and here are the reasons:

Bigger LCD Screen -- means better entertainment (widescreen movies, shows, music videos and GAMES...). BBs can't even mimick the experience you will get from iPhone's LCD panel.

APPS -- Choice of available [free] games on AppStore can't even be compared to the slim choice of Blackberry AppWorld. Compare 300,000+ apps for iPhone to ~10,000 apps for Blackberry.

Social Networking -- Facebook is like 99% percent functional on iPhone, whereas Blackberry wouldn't even allow you to use it unless you pay them by subscribing to their additional service. (extra $10 to your monthly bill that goes to the manufacturer, not your service provider. So they came up with Blackberry phones, and now I have to pay them every moths for using their phone for the rest of my life? This i just personally don't get. It's greed.)

Communication -- application like Skype is available for free even for iPod touch, whereas for Blackberries -- you have no choice but to be a Verizon (l)user. iPhone has free texting apps, whereas BB has nothing to compensate its expensive service contract!

Data Usage -- with iPhone, you can get a plenty of apps that work offline that won't eat up your MBs. With BB, you MUST be connected to the Internet to use any app. One example, both iphone and BB has dictionary.com apps, but on iPhone you can look up a word without connecting to Internet, while BB will require Internet even to start the app. Think of how much you will end up paying for data plan for BB. A LOT.

Durability -- okay, maybe BB Bold's leather back looks sexier than iPhone's plastic cover, but it's not as durable as one may think. BB gets easily jammed while iPhone is almost completely sealed off. iPhone has water- and oil-resistant finish, while BB has a trackball (that I lost somewhere in my pocket, btw)!

Maybe BB has some appeal to corporate users. But if you want to get a gadget that is more than a phone -- iPod, an Internet device, personal computer and a game console -- go for iPhone. BB is just an overpriced phone.
