The BlackBerry Bold and the Nokai N96 are two great phones that can each do a lot of things for you, but I think this one is going to be separated by a bit more than price.
Lets start out with how they look.
The BlackBerry Bold looks really good, the top half of the phone contains the screen and the bottom half contains the keyboard. The screen is a decent size with a pixel density of 480×320 and is really sharp. Videos look really good on the Bold. The keyboard is as comfortable to use as ever, especially if you are used to BlackBerrys.
The Nokia N96 also looks really good, with the better part of the front containing the screen and a smaller portion containing the keypad, but not the keyboard. The keyboard actually slides out from the back, and it is the same old keyboard that contains, for the most part, three letters and one number per key. If you want a better typing experience you would need to get the optional keyboard that is foldable, and wireless. Videos may or may not look as good on the N96 as they do on the Bold, but at least it has that nice kickstand on the back for an easy viewing experience.
If I am going by the overall appearance I would say that the Nokia N96 is the better looking phone, but when going into greater detail the BlackBerry Bold has the sharper screen, as well as a better keyboard.
On the inside, the Bold beats the N96 in several areas including; the 1500mAh battery, the 859MB memory, the 480×320 resolution, talk time, standby time, and the 624MHz is definitely the most powerful processor.
The Nokia N96 does have a great camera, a 5 megapixel in the back, and a smaller camera in the front for self pictures. The Bold has a 2 megapixel camera, and the pictures could be better, so it obviously does not have the better camera.

The N96 may have two cameras, with one of them being much better than that of the Bold, and it may be a better looking phone, but the BlackBerry Bold seems to be far superior in almost every other area.
The Nokia N96 is set to be sold at about $800, which means that you could get two Bolds for the same price as one N96. I would just save my money and definitely go with the Bold in this case.
What do you think? Does the N96 come even close to matching up with the BlackBerry Bold?

Hi Dave
This is very interesting, didn’t realize there was
so much to learn about different phones and all the

you people are too exciting with the bold, its pretty obvious, you cant even say “nokia is better in this area”, you say nokia “may be better in this area…” come on! 5 megapixels vs 2! and what happened with the 16 gb internal memory? try to take a pic at night time, you are too slanted.

hey everyone
this is my personal opinion,i think blackberry bold is a much better cell phone, fasetr, easier to use, and the only thing about nokia n96 that wins over the bold is it’s camera.
i would prefer to buy a bold for half the price of n96 ,and with the other half buy a small,8 or 10 megapixel camera and put it in my other pocket when i’m going somewhere that i need to tale pictures.this way,i will have a better phone and a better camera.

I think the N96 is the better phone, Like one of the previous posters mentioned: the DVB-H Digital TV, The internal GPS reciever, 16 Gig Internal memory, it also has the NGAGE built in, bluetooth 2.0 for wireless headphones, Also a huge fact that you have not mentioned is that it runs on a Symbian operating system, I have installed Bloover, Fring, Garmin Satnav, and a few other bits of info, I think the only good thing with the blackberry is the keyboard.

guys, camera doesnt mean anything its a mobile phone and should be used as a mobile phone, for photos purchase a camera. Now as far as operating systems go i have owned the n73 and the n95 and i can say confidently that the bold overpowers them both, WHY? well for one lets start with the bolds processor which is clocked at 647mhz basically that means any mobile application u throw at it, it will load without problems. the N series have always been sluggish and problematic and nokia software support is absolutely terrible. i am not bias as i have 3 phones and 2 of them are nokias, But come on guys if reccomending a phone, the bold is the way to go if ur not too picky about the camera.

Didn’t even realise that my N96 has a second camera on the front, but guess it’s not much use because when i chose to use it, it made my phone crash!
