How to Check Used Data on the iPhone 3G

Don’t go over the max amount of data for the month on your wireless plan.  Use this simple method to check how much data you have used on your iPhone 3G:

Dial *3282#, aka *DATA#.

Doing this should let you know how much data you have used for any given month, and how much you have to spare.

You can also check this using the settings on your iPhone, but it may not jive with your actual usage as it is more of a manual way to keep track of your usage.

Click on Settings on the Home screen.

Click General.

Then click Usage.

At the bottom of the screen you should see your network data.  If you click Reset Statistics at the bottom, your data will reset and will continue to keep count unless you reset it once again.  Which is why this method may never be the same as your actual usage.
