An mp3 is too large in size to be used as a ringtone. It just doesn’t work. That’s why we’re forced to buy them pre-made.

First make sure that you have the most up to date firmware for your device. Then, download the latest version of Sprint media manager. Connect your device to your PC and use the Add Media menu to add your ringtones. After the transfer is complete, press phone functions, then contacts, select a contact and click edit. You should then be able to set a ringtone to a specific contact.
